And I just have to put up a post about reliability....

Another boring Monday...

In this modern age, most of the things are automated, efficient, small, cheaper, faster and comes with a new improved version a month later. But like all things good, these newer techno gizmos have a major downside, reliability. If we look at most of the stuff we own now, they have like a big expiry date tagged to them the day you buy it. Almost everything have a life cycle of not more then 2 years. Gone are the days where people make things to last and it all goes down back to money. More things get spoiled, more people buy new things. And the worst part is that this big defect is accepted by society.

What piss me off most of the time is that, society can always accept flaws or defects from big shots like Microsoft. As a developer under their platform, the software written by me by all means doesn't comes bug free most of the time. And I have to agree that I might not have been practicing a great deal of best practices in software development but then again, the end users failed to see that software are written by human. Human are subjected to errors. And when that happens they expect the problem vanished magically. How I wish it was that simple. Best of all, some even think that software programs can be written overnight and they always forget the testing part needs time and in reality it takes up more the half of the whole development cycle.

Well besides that there are also some other reliability issues in the world. Human reliability. We have often seen politicians are some what the most unreliable people in the world. Many gave empty promises just to fish votes. But lets not get into there. Among your friends and family members, how many can you label them as reliable? I bet you there are only a hand full and then you'll ask back this question, are you that reliable to others?

Keyboard was sold a few weeks back. Still broke however.

Work is taxing this few days. And not recovering from the lazy mood due to the long weekend, things are not looking so good. I want holidays....

Monday, November 30, 2009

Had a longer weekend then usual last week. Friday was a public holiday and I somehow promised my brother to go out on a hiking trip with him. And even more amazingly I got to drag Victor along and he managed to wake up and meet at the meeting point on time(very very rare).
The hike was so so. Victor and I gave up at the 2nd/4th hill (10 hills all together). Waited a couple of hour for my brother to get back from the hike to the car. Had lunch and then went back home for a last minute guitar practice. It was a very busy night, I had a jamming session at 6pm and a birthday dinner. The session was great, nailed almost every song without problem.

And as usual I got all disoriented. It was the few times I get to just sit back and do nothing. The perfect occasion to let time fly by, meditate and isolate from the world.

I was very busy setting up my Fender guitar a week ago. Trying to get the string action right for me as I don't really like low action guitars. Then had some problem with my PC. I guess its the motherboard that is acting up. Just when the warranty period has expired the thing starts to die.
Manage to got it working somehow even with a damaged soundcard lol.
Here's a Kevin's top tip on PC : buy Creative soundcards.

Due to the non-productive long weekend, I've woke up a few days with no mood at all to do anything. This morning is like my mind dragging the body to the shower and to the office. Things will get worst as there will be more of this long weekends...

Its the end soon.

2009 went by mighty fast. In just a blink so many things went pass.
Been to a couple of new country, moved out and retired one of my hobbies.

Need to streamline more on what I want to do to maximize what I spend.
What should I give up next?

Tired.

Band thing is picking up, at a pace so fast that I don't even have time to learn up the songs. I feel like my lifestyle had changed since last week. Been going out quite a lot and hence had very little sleep. I need a long break soon.
